DDMoRe workshop

Apr 23 2014

7th Noordwijkerhout Symposium on Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Systems Pharmacology, Noordwijk, 2014

DDMoRe was running a 2 hours hands-on workshop on Wednesday 23rd April 2014, 10:00 - 12:00 as an introduction to the current functionalities of its new Drug & Disease Model Library and its Modelling and Simulation (M&S) platform. After a general introduction to the DDMoRe initiative, workshop attendees were instructed on the MDL editor practicalities that support the new Modelling Description Language (MDL). The MDL coding for one example, a model on Tumour Growth Inhibition (TGI) in patients with low-grade glioma1, was presented as well as the mechanisms by which third party tools can interact on the interoperability framework via a new exchange language standard for Pharmacometric models (PharmML). The intention was to demonstrate an increased efficiency in applying model-based approaches, exchanging knowledge and thereby positively impacting quantitative decision making in drug-development.

Program outline

·        Introduction to the DDMoRe project

·        Presentation of the tumour growth inhibition (TGI) model

·        Demonstration of current features of the platform, exemplified using the TGI model
